18th October 2012: ScreenLaunch reveals the exciting new Australian feature film project, Survival Tactics at the American Film Market this month.
For the first time the exciting new Australian film, Survival Tactics will be screened for buyers at the AFM. Based on a Hip Hop Theatre production of the same name, Survival Tactics intimately illustrates the necessity of music and art for survival in the urban environment. An all-star cast of Australian Hip Hop unites to share with audiences for the first time, a journey through the struggles of the urban metropolis that is Sydney.
Survival Tactics, born from the imagination of the multi-talented spoken word performer and award winning Hip Hop artist Morgan ‘Morganics’ Lewis, focuses on an Aboriginal street musician and recently released criminal, Jet. The film follows him on his mission to reunite with his love, an emerging dancer, Rose. Morganics is not only the writer, director and one of the producers, but also performs in the film, starring as Jet’s homeless and drug addicted best friend.
Based on the critically acclaimed original Hip Hop Theatre production which sold out a national tour, the freshest Bboys, Bgirls, free runners, DJs, MCs, spoken word, graffiti and street artists explode on screen in Australia’s first ever Hip Hop feature film.
ScreenLaunch is also set to introduce the DreamChannel to the American Film Market this October, to not only sell the feature film but also introduce the unique crowd casting transmedia format to other international territories.
