Andy X is a new biopic about the life and times of Andy Warhol.
This Australian project is financed and directed by film and stage veteran Jim Sharman, marking his return to the screen with a whole new approach to marketing and distribution. The social media marketing and distribution of Andy X is being handled by Ross Howden, founder of ScreenLaunch.
There are many innovative ideas behind the campaign, including the timing of the release, the DRM strategy, the use of online as the major distribution platform and tapping into film Festival databases.
To top it off, ScreenLaunch is claiming a world first – using Facebook friends as a form of currency.
